He witnessed his dream turning into reality with the 2019 NFL draft. Stidham was the 133rd overall pick for the New England Patriots that signed him for a 4 year deal with the team. He shot his first career game as a second-string backup to the QB Tom Brady.

For the rest, with two season games remaining Stidham was finally named as the starter in his whole NFL career after Carr was benched by the Raiders.
