“He was out celebrating with them,” Kyle Shanahan provides massive update on the fitness of Deebo Samuel
The San Fransico 49ers pulled off one of the major upsets this weekend, as they overcame No.1 seeded Green bay Packers to cement a spot in the NFC Championships. The 49ers came out with a 13-10 victory over Aaron Rodgers’ side and will take on the LA Rams in the titular clash in the next fixture.
Despite the win, there were a few injury concerns among the 49ers’ camp, after a few players left the field bruised and battered. WR Deebo Samuel, Trent Williams and running back Jeff Wilson Jr were among those who seemed to have picked up a knock and the 49ers coach gave an update on all of them in his press conference after the match.
Kyle Shanahan was confident that all of his injured players will play against the LA Rams
Deebo Samuel hopped off the field after he was tackled by Packers linebacker Krys Barnes in the third quarter of the match. He continued to stay on the field for the time being but eventually gave way in the fourth quarter seemingly with a bit of pain.
However, the 49ers fans can breathe easy, as the injury does not seem to be a major one, and he has recovered from it quite quickly. Kyle Shanahan clarified the injury and said that Deebo Samuel will take the field against the LA Rams next week.
“He was out celebrating with them [after the win],” Shanahan told reporters. “He seemed alright.”
Samuel didn’t sound too concerned either.
“My ankle got twisted up, and I got scared there for a second, but I’ll be alright,” Samuel told Stacey Dales after the game.
