A few days ago, the 7-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady made a serious claim that the NFL is becoming mediocre nowadays because of some rule changes by the league. His comments become a topic for discussion among football fans. And now, the New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers agrees with Brady’s claims.

During a recent episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show, the show host McAfee played the clip of Brady’s claims and asked Rodgers whether he agreed with Brady’s perspective or not. 

I agree with the last thing that he said. The rule changes have created a lot of bad habits. When I was a young player, too, the greatest fear you have as a quarterback is getting one of your guys hurt. That was your biggest fear, so you were smart about certain plays and throws of just not making them.

The 39-year-old quarterback believes the rule changes in the league are a result of society becoming soft in general. He believes that the people are not ready to see players getting mangled on the field. Rodgers — who is currently recovering from an Achilles injury himself — sympathized with the defense not being able to play well because of the rule changes, just like Tom Brady.

In brief, Aaron Rodgers agreed with Brady’s claims that the rule changes have made the league very soft, resulting in a mediocre product, compared to the old days.

Just a few days ago, the New York Jets decided to demote Zach Wilson and replace him with Tim Boyle as their starting quarterback. Later, Aaron Rodgers shared his opinion about the whole situation in The Pat McAfee Show.

Rodgers said he feels personal guilt because if everything went as planned, the narrative around Zach Wilson would be different. Instead, he got injured and Wilson was exposed as a bad quarterback. However, Rodgers said he and the Jets will support Tim Boyle in his new role.

The Jets are currently sitting with a 4-6 record and with Zach Wilson out of the picture, the fans might’ve already lost playoff hopes. Next, the Jets are scheduled to face the Miami Dolphins in a tough home game.
