Trade rumors will pick up speed now that the regular season has ended. Both the New York Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders have been eliminated from the playoffs. The Jets finished with a record of 7-10, whereas the Raiders ended up with eight wins and nine losses. The Jets started their season in devastating fashion after an Achilles injury to QB Aaron Rodgers kept him away from the field for the entire season.
Rodgers joined the New York-based team in the offseason and was expected to lead the team to the playoffs. However, that did not happen as the Jets lost their key player in week 1 and everything went downhill after that. Now that the season has ended, rumors of a potential reunion of former teammates Rodgers and Raiders’ WR Davante Adams have gathered pace.
Rodgers was asked about the rumors during his latest appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. The four-time MVP had a very cheeky smile on his face when addressed with the question. However, the QB claimed that he did not have any conversation with the Jets management about bringing Adams to New York.
Rodgers said:
None right now, absolutely none. Obviously, creating a championship team is the goal for Joe and obviously that's what Woody wants. Me coming back is obviously a big part of that, but you need the players around you. Davante Adams is a fantastic player. He also plays for the Raiders.Aaron Rodgers on The Pat McAfee Show
Rodgers and Adams played with each other for eight seasons in Green Bay. They developed a great chemistry and were one of the top QB-WR duos in the league. Adams left the Packers to join the Raiders in 2022. It will be interesting to see if the Jets pursue Adams and reunite the legendary QB with his old teammate.
Aaron Rodgers open to recruiting players to the Jets amidst Davante Adams rumors
The Davante Adams to New York Jets rumors are creating a buzz in the NFL world. The six-time Pro Bowl receiver is rumored to join the Jets and reunite with his Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers in the Big Apple. It is still a far-fetched rumor, but Rodgers is apparently open to recruiting players to the Jets this offseason.
Rodgers said in his end-of-season press conference:
If [general manager Joe Douglas] wants my help in recruiting, I’m available. It’s about character. You know, I think we need some characters on the offensive line. Some of the best lines we’ve ever had, have had some serious characters.

It will be an interesting offseason for the Jets, who finished their 2023 campaign with a record of 7-10. They were struck by the injury bug in the first week of the season, when Rodgers tore his Achilles against the Buffalo Bills. He will hope to lead the team to a potential Super Bowl run next season.
