“Where are you guys?” Aaron Rodgers has a tough question for the Packers before making decision on his future

The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers saga continues, with the quarterback still not making a decision on whether he would return for the upcoming season or not. The 39-year-old, who signed a three-year contract with the Packers last year, recently came out of his ‘darkness retreat’.

However, he is yet to make a public announcement regarding his plans. With him not making a decision yet, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Packers to plan ahead.

If Rodgers indeed decides to continue for a 19th season, he should undoubtedly remain the starting quarterback despite his performances last season. On the other hand, if he wants to make a move to another franchise, that will then leave a big hole for the Packers to fill in the short time before the start of the 2023/24 season.

While all eyes and ears remain on Aaron Rodgers, to express his mind, the veteran himself has posed a tough question for the franchise. Speaking on his first public appearance since coming out of the “darkness retreat,” he asked about the Packers’ current position.

“I’m under contract with the Packers, so if I decide to play, first it’s a conversation with them. ‘Where are you guys at, honestly?’ I’ve been there 18 years and have so much love for the organization and Green Bay. 18 years — that’s a teenager,” Rodgers said, via Packers insider Zach Jacobson.

During the same interview, Rodgers maintained a cryptic stance whenever he was asked a question about his comeback. According to Rodgers, the one good thing which came out of the four-day darkness retreat is the fact that he has definitely gotten closer to making a final decision, and it will be made in the coming days.

“All the answers are right inside me, and I touched on many of them — and definitely the feelings on both sides — during the darkness, and I’m thankful for that time. There’s a finality to the decision, and I don’t make it lightly.”

Rodgers had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2022/23 as he received his lowest-ever quarterback ratings and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Packers finished a losing season with an 8-9 record.
