On Thursday, the San Francisco 49ers successfully defeated the New York Giants in their week 3 matchup and improved to a 3-0 season record. The second-year QB Brock Purdy led the San Francisco-based football team to a dominant victory as he threw for more than 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. Following the game, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck surprised everyone by showing up to the postgame show dressed up as a captain.

During the postgame show, Charissa Thompson introduced Andrew Luck to the panel by saying, “This is where the kids say, if you know, you know. Andrew, welcome to the show. How have you been?”

The camera then panned to Luck, who showed up dressed in a full Union Army Civil War uniform. Luck went to the panel, dapped up, and hugged the former NFL star Richard Sherman and Amazon Prime’s Sam Schwartzstein.

The former first-overall draft pick got a salute from the fellow panelists. He then removed his cap and fully embraced his character as the Civil War veteran. “Great, the war is over,” he said. “We have greener pastures in California. Life is good.”

For those who don’t know, a Twitter account named CaptAndrewLuck became very popular during Luck’s playing days as the Colts quarterback. The account which had Luck as the profile picture in the Union Army Civil War uniform wrote fake letters to his mother pretending to live during the wartime. That Twitter account made fun of how Luck used to look like a Civil War soldier. And now, Luck has shocked people by embracing the funny social media meme.

Luck used to be the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis-based football team. He was deemed to be the savior of the Colts franchise, but he shocked everyone by abruptly ending his career back during the 2018 postseason in a chaotic series of events. Ever since his retirement, he has rarely appeared on television, but now he is starting to get more involved in sports shows.
