Aaron Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show that he wants to win another MVP. Could the Jets be the perfect destination for him to do so?

The Green Bay Packers selected Aaron Rodgers 24th overall in the 2005 NFL draft. Since then, Rodgers has been a household name and is counted among the most talented quarterbacks of all time. There is a long list of awards and records to his name that cannot be easily achieved by any quarterback in the current scenario and in the future as well.

Rodgers has been in the league for 18 years and has only ever played for the Packers. He took the team to Super Bowl XLV and won it against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was also crowned as the Super Bowl MVP for his stellar performance. However, it seems like his time in Green Bay has come to an end.

The Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft and has spent the last three years on the bench. It’s now or never for Green Bay to put him under center, and with the GM’s recent comments about Love being ready to play, Rodgers’s days with the Packers are numbered.

With Aaron Rodgers potentially leaving Green Bay, he can join the New York Jets if everything works out from both ends. He recently got permission to speak with the Jets’ representatives to talk about a deal. Additionally, the majority of players are recruiting him to New York that includes Sauce Gardner, who burned the Packers’ cheesehead a few hours back.

NFL player turned-analyst Bart Scott was asked on the latest episode of First Take whether he believes Aaron Rodgers will be a top 3 quarterback in the AFC if he is traded to the Jets. “I think he is,” replied Scott. “When you think about the football acumen you think about him having weapons. Him being in a offense that’s comfortable. He does all the nuanced stuff that contributes to winning at the high level. He knows all the tricks and I think he has more left in the tank. And I love a pissed-off Aaron Rodgers with something to prove.”

The 4x NFL MVP suffered a thumb injury on his throwing arm early on in the 2022 season, which troubled him during the remainder of the games. Recent reports have suggested that the Jets are involved in talking with the Packers’ front office, but the two can’t seem to reach a middle point because of the salary issue. The 39-year-old is set to receive $59.5 million in the coming year.

The Jets want the Packers to pay a fraction of the salary, but they don’t want anything to do with it. The trade can still take place if Rodgers is willing to take a pay cut so that the Jets can get more weapons on their roster. Whatever happens and wherever he lands, Rodgers is going to be a top 3 quarterback in that conference for sure. Let’s see how the Jets negotiate a trade for the veteran from the Packers.
