Ben Watson had an illustrious career in the NFL where he played as a TE for multiple teams. Watson was drafted by the Patriots in 2004. During that time, the world of the NFL was completely different and the league was severe on the prohibition and consumption of marijuana by the players.

Watson had an interesting story related to the consumption of weed. The former Patriots TE was interviewed by the Browns during the NFL combine. However, his first experience with the Browns was not fascinating as he was asked uncomfortable questions about the use of marijuana multiple times.

“The Browns asked me if I ever smoke weed, I said no, then the interviewer grabbed my wrist as he was feeling my pulse and asked me again louder.” Watson stated on social media. “I was seated in the chair in the middle of a dark room with a spotlight on it, front office stood in the shadows mob style”

Watson called his interview the worst interview he’s ever given in his life and for all the right reasons. Anyone would be terrified by such scenarios. However, those times were different and things like these rarely happen nowadays.

The former Browns TE had a great first season with the Browns where he caught 68 passes for 763 yards. Watson loved his time in Cleveland and always cherishes the time he spent playing as a pro for the team.
