‘Distraught’ Tee Higgins meets Damar Hamlin’s family after the unfortunate accident

Today is a dark day in the sports community after the tragic incident involving the Buffalo Bills’ safety, Damar Hamlin. The 24-year-old collapsed unconscious on the ground after a tackle and was unable to breathe on his own and had to be given CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). The 16 minutes on the ground during which medical professionals were working on Hamlin were the most horrific ones for the players and fans alike.
The incident occurred in the first half of the game when Damar Hamlin tackled Bengals’ WR Tee Higgins. He stood up on his feet quickly after the tackle but suddenly fell to the ground. Players and referred around him were shocked and they called the medics on the field. Hamlin had a pulse but wasn’t able to breathe on his own and hence was given CPR.
After the game was suspended and players exited their locker rooms in street clothes, most of them stayed back in Cincinnati to rush to the hospital. Tee Higgins, along with his mom, was captured at the UC Medical Center, as he was the one who collided with Hamlin.
What transpired on the field post-Damar Hamlin’s collapse?
Players forgot their rivalry and came together as one and kneeled to show their support for Damar Hamlin and his family. Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, a close friend of Hamlin, was crying inconsolably seeing his mate lying unconscious on a stretcher. Once the ambulance was taken off the field, the game was canceled, as not a single person in the stadium had any energy left to continue the game.
The ESPN broadcaster understood the gravity of the situation and cut their nationwide feed. NFL and NBA stars are coming forward and extending their prayers to Hamlin’s family. Fans have been camping outside the University of Cincinnati Medical Center all night long and are waiting patiently to hear further updates on the Bills’ safety’s condition.
A recent update on Hamlin’s condition has revealed that his vitals are back to normal, but still has a breathing tube.
