“The game is not important, Damar Hamlin’s life is” – NFL stars Drew Brees, JJ Watt, and others extend their support and pray for the speedy recovery of Bills safety

The entire world of the NFL is currently under a lot of pain after the horrific incident of Bills safety Damar Hamlin at the Bills-Bengals game. Hamlin fell unconscious on the ground after a tackle and an ambulance was rushed onto the field as he was unable to breathe on his own and was given CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation).

Players on the field from both sides were in tears after seeing one of their brothers on the field lying unconscious. The NFL, in tandem with the NFL Players Association, agreed that suspending the game was the right thing to do as everyone on the field and in the crowd was pretty shaken up and emotional at seeing Hamlin’s fall.

The entire Bills team, along with the coaching staff, took a knee, showing their support for Damar Hamlin, one of their own. Quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs were among the few players who were seen crying and praying for the fast recovery of Hamlin.

Bills safety continues to receive love and prayers from the NFL community

The Bills-Bengals clash was the one game everyone looked forward to in Week 17 as the two teams were battling it out to grab that No. 1 seed position in the AFC. This game was sure to send chills along the spines of everyone in the league, and it did due to Hamlin’s injury.

The unspeakable incident took place in the first quarter of the game when Damar Hamlin tackled Cincinnati’s tight end, Tee Higgins, and got up without missing a beat. He then abruptly stopped and succumbed to the ground and athletic trainers rushed onto the field to help him. After being treated on the field for roughly 16 minutes, he was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he is being treated.

Players from all over the sports community are extending their support to Damar Hamlin and his family. Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell started his post-game interview by praying for Damar Hamlin and his family and said the Cavs locker room is doing the same.

NFL stars also showed their love and support for Hamlin on Twitter and asked the sports community to stand as one in these trying times. Cardinals DE J.J. Watt, Time Tebow, Jets CB Sauce Gardner, and former Saints QB Drew Brees were among loads of star athletes showing their support.

Fans are gathered outside the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and are waiting for an update on Hamlin’s condition. Some of the Bills players are staying in Cincinnati to be close to Hamlin once his condition improves. Everyone in the world is making deals with God right now and bargaining for the life of Damar Hamlin and wishing that such an incident never happens in any sport that’s being played.
