The Jets’ top priority for the 2024 season is to improve their offense as quickly as possible.

Heading into the 2024 NFL draft, the New York Jets appear to have a lot at stake, given their collapse in the 2023 regular season.

When the franchise traded in Aaron Rodgers, they had high hopes of leading the Super Bowl race but as soon as the quarterback sustained the torn Achilles injury, that kept him out throughout the season, Jets offense fell apart. As a result, they became the first team in the league to be eliminated from the 2023 playoffs

The franchise cannot afford such a mishap again, that’s why in the offseason, their prime focus is to draft a player with the potential to make immediate chances for the upcoming 2024 NFL season, instead of focusing on finding players who are to be groomed for the future of the Jets.

This strategy by the Jets was well-portrayed in the Mel Kiper mock draft when they picked superstar tight end, Brock Bowers of the Georgia Bulldogs. In the Wednesday’s NFL Combine presser, Brock Bowers gave his thoughts on the same. The Georgia TE said,

It'd be pretty sweet to play with Aaron Rodgers. He's one of the best of All-Time to do it at quarterback, and it'd be cool to learn under him and just play with him.

The Jets’ top priority for the 2024 season is to improve their offense as quickly as possible. They were known to be among the worst offensive lines in the league. Drafting Bowers would surely come in that purpose, as to protect Rodgers on the field, given he is one of the highest-rated overall prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class.

Aaron Rodgers returns to the Jets, Zach Wilson on the trade block

In the absence of Rodgers in the 2023 regular season, Zach Wilson led the Jets through multiple victories but he as well couldn’t save them from collapsing. Now that Rodgers has recovered, the franchise is going forward with him as they started and gave Wilson the green light to explore potential trade deals.

I've had good conversations with his [Zach Wilson] agent. Where we are exactly, we've given them permission to talk to other teams about a trade

According to experts, if Wilson goes ahead with trading, his trade value would be evaluated as a sixth or seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft or there’s a possibility for a middle-round pick swap.
