Brock Purdy has enjoyed his off-season very well. The quarterback tied the knot with his college sweetheart, Jenna Brandt. The duo went to the stunning islands of Turks & Caicos to enjoy their honeymoon. Now, the quarterback returned, and the Iowa State alumni came to witness his team play in March Madness.

Brock Purdy‘s alma mater, Iowa State, faced off against the Stanford Cardinals women’s basketball team. It was an entertaining matchup, but it was one that had far from a happy ending. The Cardinals ended up walking away with a tough-fought victory in overtime despite facing a deficit in the fourth quarter. Iowa State ended its season with a 21-12 record, but the team’s best was not good enough in front of Stanford’s Kiki Iriafen, who put up 41 points.

The game went to overtime, and the Cardinals showed up and won the game 87-81. It was a disappointing night for fans of Iowa State WBB. The sequence of events must’ve brought a sense of deja vu for Brock Purdy. After all, it was not the first time the quarterback witnessed defeat in a pivotal game during overtime.

Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers lost the Super Bowl this year in similar fashion

In Super Bowl LVIII, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs ended the game with the score tied at 19. During overtime, the 49ers orchestrated a drive hoping to get into field goal range, which they did and proceeded to score, thereby gaining a three-point edge over Patrick Mahomes and Co. The team hoped it would be enough for them to win the big game.

But that was far from reality. Patrick Mahomes stepped in and managed to execute a perfect game-winning touchdown drive with seconds left to go in overtime. He threw an excellent pass to Mecole Hardman in the endzone. As a result, the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl 25-22. It was the first major overtime upset for Brock Purdy, and last night, history repeated itself, but this time, the quarterback was a mere spectator to the events unfolding ahead of him.

With this, the Stanford Cardinals move forward to the Sweet 16 round of March Madness. As for Brock Purdy, he is just kicking back and eagerly awaits a payday as he is due for a contract extension from the San Francisco 49ers.
