The NFL enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for Sunday Night Football, where the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles are set to loggerhead against each other. The Eagles have a winning track record as they won 10 games in their 11 matchups. On the other hand, the 49ers, after suffering upheavals halfway through the middle of the season, have gotten their momentum back. After the bye week, the team secured three victories consecutively.

Ahead of the game, the 49ers are rolling their sleeves up. Brock Purdy, who is in great form presently, however is staying humble and acknowledged that the Eagles will be a hard nut to crack. According to Kate Rooney of KRON4News, the quarterback said,

It’s gonna be a tough place to play, they’re a really good team… For us it’s another great challenge, but to say I’ve had this game circled for a year, honestly, it hasn’t been like that for me.

Considering the form that Purdy is having, it goes without saying that the 2022 Mr. Irrelevant would pose a tough challenge for the Eagles. His performance has rose to the occasion after the bye week as he registered seven touchdowns in three games.

In addition to this, Christian McCaffrey is also having a brilliant run with the team. The 49ers offense had a great performance in the games that they won. They thrashed the likes of the Dallas Cowboys, a team apparently considered decent at defense.

The 49ers are touted as the favorite this time by many

The San Francisco 49ers will start the game as a favorite. According to a report by the Pro Football Network, the betters are favoring the 49ers by 2.5 points. However, the 49ers are not willing to bat an eye on the predictions. Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers head coach, said he does not understand how people decide these things.

In the recent media interaction, he said,

I mean, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I don’t really know how that stuff works. So, I don’t really know why. It is random.

Shanahan knows very well that the Eagles have a clutch mentality. They have multiple records of coming back from late. The Bills match was a perfect example of it. No wonder, the 49ers’ management will be very cautious against the Eagles.
