The Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts are now the new comeback kings of the NFL as they recovered from a 7-17 halftime deficit to win it 37-34 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. With yesterday’s victory, the Eagles are the first team to reach 10 wins this season.

It required overtime to decide the outcome of the game. Facing a third-and-15 on the Bills’ 29-yard line, Hurts backtracked for a few steps and then scrambled to his left, slicing his way through a couple of Bills defenders to complete a 12-yard run. This turned out to be the game-winning moment.

As soon as the referee blew the final whistle, CBS Sports Tracy Wolfson ran onto the Lincoln Financial Field turf to capture the Eagles quarterback’s reaction. Hurts has been known to have a serious demeanor during interviews, but this was a hard-fought win and deserved at least a smile. Wolfson caught on to that memo and said:

I look at you, and how can you not smile after that one?

To which, Hurts replied:

Had to make it fun. That's one hell of a team we just played for. As I said before, in this league, it's only about winning. You have to find ways to win and continue to get better. I didn't play a great first half. That's something that has to change, but we found a way; we play team football, and we win.

Wolfson asked:

I know you are never satisfied, but take us through that final touchdown.

And the 25-year-old said:

Never a doubt. By any means, we will find a way. That's the mentality we have, and it takes a special group to be able to do that.

Jalen Hurts was the difference between the Eagles and the Bills

Hurts opened the proceedings on the night with his 10th rushing touchdown of the season. The Bills gave a strong reply with back-to-back TDs of their own through Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen.

After halftime, the momentum shifted toward the Eagles once more as they finished off two quickfire endzone runs through DeVonta Smith and Olmaide Zaccheaus.

However, the Bills almost looked certain to clinch their seventh win of the season when Allen found Gabe Davis for a 7-yard completion. It wasn’t meant to be in the end as Eagles kicker Jake Elliot dispatched a 59-yard field goal, which leveled the score and forced OT.

In the end, Jalen Hurts’ 11th rushing TD of the season sealed the game for the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished the game with 18 completions for 200 yards and 3 passing touchdowns and carried the ball 14 times, gaining 65 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. The Pro Bowler recorded his 35th career win.
