Bryce Young is one of the most interesting prospects coming out of college in recent years. The 21-year-old QB is projected to become the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft but his height and build might scare some general managers away from selecting him. And now, to further the scares about his height issues a recent video of him arriving at the NFL Combine has sparked some hilarious memes on social media due to his height.
The Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is officially listed as six feet tall and 194 pounds according to the Sports reference website. However, people are starting to question his legitimate height shortly after his appearance at the NFL Combine on Wednesday. The talented quarterback arrived at the combine alongside the Michigan tight end, Luke Schoonmaker.
Young, who walked next to the 6’6″ tight end, looked very short, which led to people trolling him on social media. Nevertheless, apart from social media, his height also concerns the renowned NFL analyst Todd McShay. Furthermore, McShay also claims a friend told him that the Bama QB Bryce Young, who is listed at six feet, actually measures 5’10”.
“I love Bryce Young, I really do,” McShay told according to Sports Illustrated. “I know he’s 195 pounds; a really good friend of mine who’s a scout had him at 5-10 1/2.” Furthermore, he continued by saying that even though he likes Young, he would be scared to draft him if he was a GM. “I absolutely love Bryce Young. I would bet on him,” said McShay. “If I’m a GM, I’m scared to death of drafting him.”

Social media trolls the Alabama QB Bryce Young
Bryce Young’s height becomes the talking point on social media during the first day of the NFL Combine. Many people believe his height and weight will be a serious issue for him to perform at a high level in the NFL. However, many claim that short QBs like Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray have had success in the league, so Bryce Young’s height wouldn’t be a big issue for him.
Apart from his undersized build, Bryce Young is one of the quarterbacks to come out of college. He has won the Heisman Trophy in 2021 when he had the best of his college football career as an Alabama signal-caller. The NFL scouts and GMs have always been old school when it comes to drafting a quarterback, so it wouldn’t surprise anyone if teams drafted Kentucky QB Will Levis before Young even though the latter is miles ahead of the former player when it comes to talent and accomplishments.
