Cole Beasley is still uncertain about his future in the league after retiring last season. The 34-year-old WR then came out of retirement to join the Buffalo Bills by the end of the season.
It was a short contract that lasted for that season only. Currently, his future is uncertain. Although Beasley has shown the desire to join the Bills again, there are some conditions.
At the end of the 2022 NFL season, Beasley indicated his desire to join the Bills again after going through a lukewarm season. Recently, he took to Twitter to share the non-negotiables if he is to join the Bills next season.
“If I’m not in a Training Camp, I’m retiring. Coming in when the season has already started doesn’t give me a chance to be implemented and make an impact,” Cole Beasley stated on Twitter. “I need camp to develop chemistry with everyone and build confidence. If they won’t give me that then they don’t want me there.”
Beasley believes in preparation and holds the training camp in high regard. However, it is still unsure if the Bills want to sign him for yet another season after drafting similar players in the NFL draft.
The former Bills WR has been a long-time supporter of the Bills and even played for them for 3 years before moving to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, now it feels like they have set their eyes elsewhere.
Cole Beasley hits back at his replacement in Buffalo
The Bills traded up from the draft ladder to secure the signing of talented TE Dalton Kincaid. It is reported that the young TE from Utah State will function as the replacement for Cole Beasley.
It’s not uncommon for TEs to function in the slot. However, that is where Dalton excels and has often lined up in the slot throughout his collegiate career.
Many Bills fans were making comparisons between Kincaid and Beasley. This really agitated the veteran WR, who pushed back at the comparison with a straight-forward tweet.
“Please don’t compare me to any tight end. Lol,” Cole Beasley stated on Twitter. This comment resulted in an all-out social media war between Beasley and the Bills fans.
Therefore, the free agent WR had to clear out all the misunderstandings and took back his comments from before. The future looks uncertain for the 34-year-old who currently tries to find a place in the competitive world of the NFL.
