“Aaron has that fire and perfectionist-type attitude”: Chargers Center Corey Linsley sees a lot of similarities between Rodgers and Justin Herbert

The Green Bay Packers lost their All-Pro Center in Corey Linsley who played with the team for nearly seven seasons, last year he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. The quarterback has played alongside both Aaron Rodgers and Justin Herbert, who is a certified hall of fame QB, a Super Bowl champion, and four regular-season MVPs. Justin Herbert won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2020 and showed immense potential which bought a lot of hope to Chargers fans.
Corey Linsley believes that there are a lot of similarities between Justin Herbert and Aaron Rodgers. He knows what it takes for a quarterback to be a legend in the league and excel in the game. In his time as a Charger, he sees a lot of that Aaron Rodgers talent in Justin Herbert as well. The Center in an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio praised the young quarterback.

The Los Angeles Chargers Center had a lot to say about Herbert, “Aaron has the same thing, that fire, perfectionist-type attitude when Aaron was on, and he can’t be stopped, and you weren’t on, he was gonna let you know.” Linsley said stating Herbert can turn the heat up instantly and play with that laser focus that Rodgers is known for.
He went on to add, “He has that perfectionist, competitive fire inside of him, and that’s what Justin has.” Linsley said watching Herbert train he could see the drive and desire in him to be the best quarterback in all of football.
“He just has that inside of him where he’s just like, ‘I want to be the best, I want to be the best that I can be. I want my team to be the best and I’m not going to let anything stop me.’ He watches more film than I’ve ever seen, he’s in the weight room doing weighted pullups, just getting after it man,” Linsley said praising Herbert’s highly competitive nature and his mindset of working towards becoming the best version of himself so he can help his team.
Herbert does this day in and day out, Linsley said he does not take days off, “I mean it’s 24/7, and that type of mindset speaks to the type of player he’s going to be.”
Herbert is on track to have a stellar career, the Chargers barely missed the playoffs this season. It is to be seen if he can continue his upward growth and excel in this league.
