The Cincinnati Bengals proved that they didn’t have the game to back up all the trash-talking they were doing a week prior to the AFC Championship game. The Chiefs completely owned the visiting team in the first half of the game with a lead of seven points. In the second half, the Bengals quickly bounced back and found their footing, and tied the game.
Kansas City was on third-and-4 as Patrick Mahomes led a 39-yard drive with less than 30 seconds left in regulation and they still weren’t in field goal range for Harrison Butker. On third down, Mahomes took off despite his sprained ankle and ran to get the yardage and wash pushed out of bounds by Bengals’ Joseph Ossai.
The refs flagged the play and Ossai was penalized for unnecessary roughness, which gave the Chiefs the extra yards and Butker kicked an easy 45-yard field goal to send them to the Super Bowl. Many said that the 22-year-old defensive end gift-wrapped the Super Bowl seat to the Chiefs by tackling Mahomes.
Micah Parsons reacts to Germaine Pratt’s comments to Joseph Ossai

After Butker kicked the field goal and the Chiefs celebrated their victory over the Bengals, Joseph Ossai was seen crying on the sideline. Most of the Bengals players came to support Ossai along with head coach Zac Taylor, who said that they weren’t going to blame their loss on one play. However, there was one player who couldn’t care less about hurting Ossai’s feelings – Germaine Pratt.
As the Bengals were heading into the locker room, linebacker Germaine Pratt was captured shouting at Ossai for attracting the penalty, which caused them to lose. “It’s the motherfuckin’ last series,” Pratt shouted, which was obviously aimed at Ossai. “What the f*ck. Why the f*ck did you touch the quarterback?” Fans on social media deemed Pratt’s this outburst unsportsmanlike.
Even Dallas Cowboys star linebacker, Micah Parsons, did not appreciate Germaine Pratt’s little outburst. Parsons tweeted: “This lame asf!” And honestly, it was pretty mean of Pratt to say what he said to Ossai. In Joseph’s defense, he didn’t have any other option than tackling Patrick Mahomes. If he had stopped running behind Mahomes, who is known to have lightning-fast legs, then he would definitely have picked up extra yardage on the play. So he had no other choice but to pursue the Super Bowl LIV MVP, which resulted in him shoving the quarterback.
Hats off to Mahomes for an Oscar-worthy performance of wiping out on the floor to make it seem like he was pancaked to the ground. If it had been any other quarterback, they too would’ve done the same because that’s how they can draw potential fouls which help them win games. And that’s how it all unfolded. In the end, it wasn’t Joesph Ossai’s fault that the refs decided to flag the play, which is pretty common and happens almost every other day in the league.
Rather than being a good teammate, Germain Pratt decided to beat a man when he was already down. Pratt was more upset because he is in the last year of his rookie contract and the Bengals are yet to give him an extension. So, it was important for him to try to make it to the Super Bowl and win it because who knew if he would get the chance again in the future. Let’s see if the Bengals decide to give him an extension after his recent behavior or if he is let go.
