For the first time since his rookie career in 2016, Dak Prescott has his name hitting the air as the possible MVP award winner. Despite having one of the best individual stats over eight years, his name has always been kept away from the MVP discussions. However, his performance in the last five games compelled a section of people to cite him as one of the favorites to win the award.

In the last five games, Dak Prescott has been brilliant. By registering 17 touchdowns and two interceptions for 1,602 yards, the QB ensured four victories in the last five games for the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a 124.8 passer rating at that stage.

But the quarterback is not thinking about his MVP status now. He is more focused on the Cowboys’ overall performance. In an interaction with the Associate Press, the 30-year-old said:

No, I mean, it means I’m playing well. Simple as that. I’m about one goal, and it’s a big team goal, and I know if my name’s in there that means we’re playing well. So, that’s great. But at the end of the day, we’re just trying to build. I mean being eight years into this thing, it’s about building and building and making sure we’re getting better and better each and every week and getting hot right when we need to be.

The Cowboys are presently in the second position in the NFC East group. The Philadelphia Eagles are on top with 10 wins against just one loss. If Prescott has to give the MVP a shot then the Cowboys need to win the NFC East over the Eagles.

Dak Prescott is a team man

In the interaction with the AP, Dak Prescott made it clear that he preferred his team over everything and also gave flowers to his teammates. Last season, he was leading the quarterbacks with the highest number of interceptions. However, this season has been comparatively better as Prescott has less numbers of interceptions and more TDs. He attributed the success to his teammates.

Prescott had the following to say:

It gives credit to everything around this team, the organization, the coaches, people just handling their business, being prepared. Our process has been amazing throughout this season, just when the game plan comes in, how early it gets in, and the process we go through after that to be ready to call a game. The play-caller’s purpose is clear and precise on everything. Just really, the challenge is just staying true to that process, not getting ahead, not getting overwhelmed, understanding that what I say to myself is I haven’t done shit, you know what I mean.

The Cowboys’ man suffered major criticism over the years for not providing the best against top-tier teams. In the coming games, he will have an opportunity to turn these things around.
