The Kansas City Chiefs are on top of the world. They just won their third Super Bowl ring in the franchise’s history and their second ring in the last 4 years. However, the Chiefs have lost some offensive power in the 2023 off-season after JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman both left the Chiefs for other teams in free agency and the ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky suggests the Chiefs address that issue in the 2023 NFL Draft.
During a recent episode of the ESPN show NFL Live, the former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky claimed that the Boston College wideout Zay Flowers could be a scary addition to the Kansas City-based franchise.
“There is a sincere interest, I love the fact that they included Patrick Mahomes. I think on the field, talent-wise, Zay Flowers has a lot of Antonio Brown in him,” said Orlovsky about Flowers. “Can you imagine that type of talent added to this offense with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes?”
“They lost Mecole Hardman, so they are looking for that sort of Swiss Army knife type of player that not only has receiver skills but ball-in-hand type of skills. This would be a scary addition to an already explosive offense,” said Orlovsky.
The Chiefs held a last-minute workout with the Boston College wideout and had Patrick Mahomes throwing passes to him. This last-minute shows that the Chiefs have an interest in Flowers but the defending Super Bowl Champions would have to move up in the draft to acquire him.
Zay Flowers is rising up on draft boards

The Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers’ draft stock is on the rise ever since the NFL Combine. The New England Patriots, who currently have the 14th overall pick showed a lot of interest in the 5’10” pass catcher but now it seems like other teams are interested in him too.
During his 4-year stint with the Eagles, the talented receiver caught 200 passes for 3056 yards and 29 touchdowns. Furthermore, his best season came during his senior year in 2022 when he caught 78 passes for 1077 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The explosive wide receiver is projected to be drafted in the mid-to-late first round in the 2023 NFL Draft. Many teams including the Patriots, Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings have shown interest in acquiring him. His speed and agility could help him become one of the top wideouts in the league from day 1.
