This offseason has been one of the craziest ones in NFL history and more so for the wide receivers. We saw WRs taking home the big bucks. The Packers traded their star receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs also had to lose Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

Both the trades had to do with money and it felt like other star receivers also followed in Adams’ and Hill’s footsteps. A little while ago, what caught everyone’s attention was Deebo Samuel, who is in his final year of contract, openly claiming that he wants to leave the franchise.

The air around Deebo’s final decision about where he will end up playing in the coming season hasn’t cleared as of yet. However, among all this, a new video has gone viral on Twitter due to which Deebo is facing a lot of flak online. Apparently, a kid reached out to Deebo with a football in his hand asking for an autograph but the WR refused to fulfil the kid’s request.

The kid was then seen walking away dejected and disappointed with his shoulders dropped down. As soon as the video gained momentum online, fans started posting their reactions in numbers. Here are a few of them.

While many are not happy with the way Deebo reacted, a lot of fans also came out in the WR’s support claiming that it is up to the man to decide when he wants to give an autograph or click a picture. As far as his trade situation is concerned, the 49ers are still trying as hard as they can to keep him in the squad.

The 49ers have made it clear that they will not grant his request to join another side during the offseason. Even franchise general manager had vouched that they would try their best to keep hold of their wide receiver till the end of their contract.

Deebo Samuel is coming off a breakout season in 2021 where he led the NFL with 18.2 yards per reception and had 1,770 total yards from scrimmage. Last year, head coach Kyle Shanahan elected to deploy Samuel out of the backfield along with his prowess as a receiver and he shined in that role, totaling 365 yards and eight touchdowns on 59 carries.
