“We DEM Boys”: Dallas Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence has a warning for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles
DeMarcus Lawrence calls out Jalen Hurts
DeMarcus Lawrence is not buying into the Philadelphia Eagles hype. The defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys does not want to hear about how the Eagles with QB Jalen Hurts are looking like Super Bowl Contenders with a record of 5-0. This Sunday, we will see the greatest NFC East matchup of every season, in this particular division, it is either the Eagles or the Cowboys who come out on top, and tomorrow’s matchup between the two teams will be a preview of the divisional round.
DeMarcus Lawrence is one of the best defensive players for the Dallas Cowboys. So it came as no surprise that the media began to bombard him with questions relating to Jalen Hurts. Rather than give him his flowers, the defensive end ended up giving a reality check to the media about the Eagles and Hurts.
“He hasn’t played the Cowboys yet”: DeMarcus Lawrence calls out Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Lawrence was asked if Jalen Hurts has been playing better football, to which the Pro-Bowler’s response was “Has he played us? All right. All you need to write is (that) he hasn’t played the Cowboys yet, so we don’t know how good he is,” via The Athletic.
Lawrence gave Hurts his respect by calling him a “good quarterback” and spoke highly about the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense with Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown. The defensive end called it the best offensive squad that Dallas has gone up against this season. “They do have a pretty good offense, they (have) got a good WR corps, good B, good O-line, so they‘re well-rounded,” Lawrence stated.
We all know DeMarcus Lawrence likes to talk that talk. He ended with a warning for the Philadelphia Eagles. “We Dem Boys, remember that. Don’t worry about it. Y’all will see it on Sunday. There are still areas he struggles in, so (we’ll) just attack those areas.”
DeMarcus Lawrence was annoyed about being asked any more questions about Jalen Hurts, he really seems eager to beat the Eagles and showcase what the Cowboys are made of. Watch out Jalen Hurts because Lawrence and Parsons are coming for you this week. This would be the toughest defense that the Eagles would be going up against so far into this season.
And Jalen Hurts has been nothing short of stellar. The quarterback has started all games, and completed 67.9% of his passes, averaging 8.5 yards per attempt, and 271.8 pass yards per game. He appears to have scaled back his run game in comparison to last year. It has not stopped him from reaching the red zone as he has 6 rushing TDs to his credit so far.
The Dallas Cowboys vs the Philadelphia Eagles will be an interesting matchup, considering it is a preview of the Divisional Round. This game will also be the biggest test that Cooper Rush has faced as a starter in the NFL.
It will answer one of the biggest questions that have been floating around in the minds of Cowboys fans. Was Cooper Rush’s 5-0 streak a fluke, or does he really have what it takes to win? Only one way to find out.
