Derek Carr has had a roller-coaster of a season this year in the NFL. Previously, he was one of the most sought-after QBs in the league. However, terrible performances this season have led to him being out of favor with his team.
With his future uncertain with the Raiders, it is expected that the 31-year-old QB will be looking to showcase his talents in another team. Before that, he will have one last go this season on the Pro Bowl team.
In a surprising turn of events, Carr was selected for the Pro Bowl team for the 4th time in his career of 9 years. This makes him an almost regular in the Pro Bowl.
Unfortunately, he’s selected as a replacement and it’s doubtful that he’ll see any game time. Still, being selected in the Pro Bowl is a big deal, especially even more considering he is out of favor with his own team.
The Raiders are expected to trade him this off-season. Therefore, this may be his last shot at impressing other teams of his quality and confirming a new team before the next season starts.
Carr will be sharing the QB stage with Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence and Ravens backup QB Tyler Huntley. With just days remaining before the season ends, things are looking uncertain for the 4 times Pro Bowler.
Derek Carr brutally trolled for getting selected for the Pro Bowl team
Social media were quick to notice Derek Carr’s selection for the Pro Bowl and called out the QB for not being qualified enough to be selected for the team. His stats are evidence of that as the QB has just scored 24 touchdowns while throwing 14 interceptions for 3,522 yards.
Many on NFL Twitter also called out the Pro Bowl for being rigged and fake as Ravens backup QB Tyler Huntley also got a call-up to be a part of the team. The Pro Bowl has been really controversial this season with many high-profile snubs.
Carr’s game was abysmal this season and didn’t qualify as Pro-Bowl worthy, with many pointing out that there were many quality QBs in the NFC itself who could take his place. Take a look at some of the reactions down below.
Derek Carr will be trying to do his best and sway all the Raiders fans back in his favor after a miserable 6-9 losing record. On the other hand, things have already turned sour between the QB and the organization indicating a potential trade this offseason.
