“6 games too much”: Deshaun Watson’s team reportedly wanted zero game suspension for the Browns QB

Judge Sue Robinson’s ruling which handed Watson a 6 game suspension has been in controversy since it was announced, while many were displeased that it was too little. There was one particular group that was not happy with the judgment, deeming it too severe.
Although the displeased group may not be impartial in this situation as that group was Deshaun Watson’s legal team consisting his legal council and reps were displeased with the verdict as they were displeased with the hearing according to CBS Sports’s Joshina Anderson.
Deshaun Watson to miss only 6 games in the coming season
The suspension seems too little compared to the full season suspension that the NFL was seeking for but was denied by Robinson who also criticized the NFL for seemingly attempting to seek a more punitive discipline in response to public opinion.
“The NFL is attempting to impose a more dramatic shift in its culture without the benefit of fair notice to—and consistency of consequence for—those in the NFL subject to the Policy,” she wrote.
While Watson’s team may think that the suspension should have been for games, many across the world believed the suspension was not severe enough, if seen in light of the suspensions received by the likes DeAndre Hopkins who was suspended for 6 games after a trace amount of PEDs which he claims he didn’t know he ingested and Atlanta Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended a whole season for making parlay bets on games.
