“Don’t run from this a** whooping”: Former Cowboys WR Dez Bryant calls Tyreek Hill out to race

Dez Bryant and Tyreek Hill
The NFL appears to be transitioning into the WWE as players appear to be in the mood to pick up beef with players and veterans at the first chance that they get. We just got done with Lamar Jackson and Bernard Pollard Jr beefing with one another and now we got another one already. The latest argument ensued between former Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant and current Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill.
Dez Bryant has not been in the league for a while now but his name most certainly has been in the news every now and then. He was a top receiver in the midst of his prime when he was a Cowboy but due to financial differences and not getting paid, the WR opted to go to the Saints in 2018. After just one season, he was out of the league. He recently made a return with the Baltimore Ravens. He was not the Dez we were accustomed to watching but at least he’s playing.
“You gone catch this L”: Tyreek Hill does not hold back and claps back at Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant recently tweeted that he wanted to race Tyreek, this was not unexpected as he has been claiming for a while that he is the fastest player in the league. That could have been true when he was a Cowboy but it is hard to believe that he is still as fast today. Bryant ran a 4.52 at the 40-yard dash in the 2010 NFL Combine. For reference, he was not even in the top 10 fastest players of that year’s class.
Tyreek Hill as we know is no joke when it comes to running, the man is an athletic anomaly. He is gifted, he makes up for his shortcomings in the height department with his speed and physicality. Hill ran a 4.29, the fastest at the 2016 NFL Combine. Now it is fair to understand that we cannot use a player’s combine performance as a standard and accurate metric to determine their true speed as some players who have performed below par in the combine have outrun some of the fastest guys in the league during games. But that is the only metric that we have to get an idea of how fast a player is.
Anyways, Dez had this to say to Hill:
Bad idea Dez. You don’t call Hill out when it comes to 100m races. We like the confidence tho. Tyreek Hill saw this and you know he was not gonna just let this one slide, here’s how he responded.
Ouch. Someone get Tyreek Hill on a Comedy Central Roast edition, what a response. If you did not already know, the biggest highlight of Dez Bryant’s career was in reality a lowlight for all Cowboys fans. In the 2015 divisional round against the Green Bay Packers.
Take a look at this insane catch that Dez Bryant made but did not really make
What a year that was for Dallas, the team was closer than ever to proving all their haters wrong and they wanted to establish themselves as America’s Team once again. The talent pool on that team was so vast that you could have made a legitimate argument that they had a shot at the Super Bowl.
The game was extremely close and entertaining with both teams going back and forth. At the start of the 4th quarter, the Cowboys were leading by just 1 and they were looking extremely good. With under 5 minutes to go, the team recorded a 4th and second within Packer’s lines. Their quarterback, Tony Romo threw a deep pass toward Bryant that tested his talent and it was his chance to rise. The pass was risky but Dez caught it near the goal line along the sidelines.
The jump that he made over the defense was stunning and he not only kept the ball intact with the remainder of the play but also reached out towards the endzone to score with a move that led the ball to almost slip out of his hands but still intact in his possession.
The referees reviewed the play multiple times, they did not give the touchdown but awarded the team the ball at the one-yard line. The Packers HC at the time Mike McCarthy (now the coach of the Dallas Cowboys) challenged this play and claimed the ball came in contact with the ground before Dez caught the ball. Once again after review, the referees came to the conclusion that the WR did not secure the ball before it hit the ground which made the play incomplete.
To date, Dez argues that he caught it and is mad about that call, so you Tyreek Hill is not joking around when he responded to Bryant losing badly to him the same way the Cowboys lost to the Packers that game.
What do you think? Does Dez stand a shot to beat Tyreek and most importantly, did he catch the ball?
