The Cincinnati Bengals brought a four-game winning streak to their home field on Sunday against the Houston Texans. They were the hottest team in the league, with wins over the San Francisco 49ers and the Buffalo Bills.

The Texans, on the other hand, have a rookie at the quarterback position in C.J. Stroud. The Bengals, on the back of some stellar performances by star QB Joe Burrow, were expected to take care of the Texans.

However, the Houston-based team had other ideas, as they put on a great performance and pulled off an amazing win. Stroud had another great game, with 356 yards and one touchdown. He led the team on a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter. Burrow, on the other hand, started the game well but had a couple of killer interceptions on back-to-back possessions late in the game. The fourth-year signal caller talked about the game afterward.

“Tough loss. I thought we were going to be able to pull it out. [We] didn’t make enough plays at the end of the day. They played really well. It’s disappointing.

Burrow said via the Bengals’ official website when asked about the game.

Burrow was also asked about the mood in the dressing room and the message following the loss. The QB said:

We have to step it up. We have to be better. Today wasn't good enough; it's as simple as that.

The Bengals have now slipped to 5-4 this season. They have been in this position before, and Burrow has led them to the AFC Championship game twice in a similar situation. However, they would hope to win as many games as possible going forward. They will play their next game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, which is a very important game for both teams.

Joe Burrow supports Tyler Boyd after a crucial drop in the fourth quarter on Sunday

The Cincinnati Bengals had a golden opportunity to take the lead late in the game against an impressive Houston Texans side on Sunday. However, the Bengals’ veteran pass catcher, Tyler Boyd, dropped a potential game-winning touchdown pass by QB Joe Burrow. That led to a field goal, which only tied the game. The Texans got the ball back and promptly went down the field to win the game on FG. Burrow defended his receiver after the game.

We wouldn’t have even been down there if it wasn’t for him. Obviously, you’d like to come down with it, but we were able to go down there and tie it up. [We would have] liked to punch it in, make them go down and score a touchdown in that situation, but we were able to tie it up.
Burrow said via a transcript from the team

Boyd had already dropped a routine pass earlier in the game. The eighth-year receiver finished the game with eight receptions for 117 yards. The Bengals will look to put this loss behind them as soon as possible since they have a huge divisional matchup coming up on Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens.
