Donte Whitner takes things too far by claiming he’d have ‘killed’ Tyreek Hill in a fiery exchange between the two on Twitter over Dak Prescott ‘sucks’ comment

Dak Prescott was getting harshly criticized by many experts following his abysmal 3 interception performance in the Dallas Cowboys‘ week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Many analysts, including ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and NBC’s Donte Whitner, trolled Prescott over the humiliating 42-10 loss. The criticism of Prescott seemingly did not sit well with the Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
While reposting Donte Whitner’s harsh comments about Prescott on social media, Hill wrote, “What’s up with the old heads” with a thinking emoji. Whiter, a former NFL defensive back, was seemingly offended by Hill’s “old heads” comment.
“You’re fast but you’re lucky…. I’d have killed you on that field…. Mind your business homie..” Whitner responded to Hill in a now-deleted comment. Furthermore, he also added another comment, in which, the 3-time Pro Bowl DB warned Hill that he would also one day become an ‘old-head’.
“Ol head? You’ll be here one day… I said what I said homie,” wrote Whitner. But Hill replied and said that he would never hate on an NFL player after retiring from the sport while also calling out Donte Whitner for deleting his other comment.
“Why you deleted your comment [laughing emojis]? And I promise I won’t hate on no NFL player I stand on business,” wrote Tyreek Hill while responding to the former Cleveland Browns safety Whitner.
It is true that Whitner crossed a line while criticizing the 2-time Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott. Still, Prescott had one of the worst performances of his career on Monday, and some of the hate was warranted.
Donte Whitner’s comments about Dak Prescott
Following the game on Sunday night, the former 49ers defensive back Donte Whitner joined NBC Sports Bay Area’s “49ers Postgame Live” and didn’t mince his words while criticizing the veteran quarterback Dak Prescott.
“Dak Prescott sucks, period,” Whitner said. “They talk so much about Dak Prescott being a top-tier quarterback, franchise guy. I don’t see it. I see them trying to cover up for what he lacks.”
Moreover, Whitner went to clown Prescott by saying that the Niners’ defense made the Cowboys QB look like a tier-four talent. Whitner also implied that Prescott doesn’t have the ability to take control of the offense and carve up the opponents. Instead, Prescott can only do screen passes and complete throws.
Prescott really couldn’t move the ball at all against the tough 49ers’ defense on Sunday. He registered only 153 passing yards and 1 touchdown while throwing 3 interceptions in the loss in week 5. Next, Dak and the Cowboys will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday in their week 6 game.
