Ex-NFL player Sergio Brown resurfaced in Tulum, Mexico, on Sunday, grooving to the local tune. He is currently a no-show in the US, despite an ongoing investigation surrounding the death of his mother.
A video recovered by TMZ shows Brown wearing red Nike swim trunks and dancing with a few unidentified women, quite possibly at a beach resort. Through his body language, he did not seem to care for the world. Not only that, but at times it gave off the impression that he was intoxicated. It’s not uncommon to get high when partying on a getaway.
A source revealed that the former Indianapolis Colts defensive back was at the venue for several hours. But they didn’t mention who Brown was with, when, or how he left the place.
This video is unquestionably very concerning, considering the cops are in search of the 35-year-old. On September 16, Maywood police in Illinois discovered the lifeless body of his mother, Myrtle Brown, near a creek. According to the officials, both she and Sergio Brown were reported missing a few days before.
After an autopsy, her death was ruled to be a homicide. But apart from that, there has not been much information regarding the case. Curiously, no suspect list has been issued as of yet.
The plot thickens for Sergio Brown
Just a few days prior to this new development, Sergio Brown appeared on social media through an account named “intplayerwithapassport”, addressing his mother’s death. “Just keep swimming. Missing? What the f**k is going on?” the former New England Patriots safety mumbled.

He even accused the Maywood police and the FBI of kidnapping him. “They kidnapped me twice from home. The Maywood Police Department,” Sergio Brown added. “It had to be the FBI or the Maywood police. I thought my f**kin’ momma was on vacation.”
However, The Sun.com reported that reign camera footage from neighbor Carlos Cortez saw Brown taking out trash and burning her clothes in a bonfire. Family members of the Brown family knocked on Cortez’s door to ask the whereabouts of Sergio. “They said he wasn’t himself the last few months. He was out of his mind,” he revealed.
Brown was a good student with a 3.2 GPA while studying at Proviso East High School. During this time, he was training to be a receiver. Later, she joined Notre Dame and primarily spent time on special teams in the first couple of years. During his junior year, he played 13 games, starting six, and recorded 28 tackles and a sack.
After staying undrafted, the Patriots signed him in 2010 but waived him off during the final cut. Sergio Brown then bounced around from one NFL roster to another. Colts, followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Atlanta Falcons, and then the Buffalo Bills in 2016. He played a total of 15 games and caught one interception.
However, there are no recorded details as to what happened to him afterward. His mother’s death case brought Brown back into the mainstream media after seven years.
