Ryan Tannehill has spent over a decade in the NFL and is considered as one of the most experienced QB out there. The 34-year-old has currently devoted his services to the Tennessee Titans.

Interestingly, that could soon change as the New England Patriots are in the market for a veteran. The Patriots already have a starting QB in Mac Jones, however, his abysmal performances last season have made HC Bill Belichick look elsewhere.

Jones’ competition Bailey Zappe has also disappointed more or less. Maybe New England needs a veteran at the center of things to keep their offense balanced and Tannehill can gladly provide that.

According to Joe Tansey from Bleacher Report, the Patriots could trade for Titans QB this summer and get the 34-year-old as their starter for the next one or two seasons.

“New England would be smart to give the 24-year-old (Mac Jones) a third year to prove himself, which seems the likely move, but they could go after Ryan Tannehill to add more competition,” Tansey wrote.

Ryan Tannehill is at a sweet spot in his career where he is highly experienced but not a burden to his team according to his fitness. He could still produce quality football for a couple of seasons. Although this trade looks decent on paper, many Patriots fans have dismissed this signing and believe that adding another QB will only make things confusing for the team.

The Patriots have two young QBs who have been first-round picks in their respective NFL drafts. Therefore, many fans believe that instead of adding more competition, the team should just develop these two youngsters.

The conversation got really interesting on Reddit, where everyone called out Ryan Tannehill for being inefficient. The Titans QB has just played 5 playoff games in his career and would be a massive downgrade for the New England-based team.

It is strongly rumored that the Titans will release Tannehill or effectively trade him this season itself. However, the Patriots fans don’t want him and believe he is mediocre at best.

Ryan Tannehill moving to the Patriots is just a rumor now. However, soon it can develop into a strong possibility if Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe don’t pull their weight in training and perform well.
