49ers LB Fred Warner has spoken highly about QB Brock Purdy after their playoff game against the Seahawks and has claimed that he is the reason why the 49ers can think about winning the Super Bowl this season. In the first playoff game, the San Francisco 49ers outclassed the Seattle Seahawks 41-23 despite trailing at halftime to make it to the divisional round.
Purdy is currently unbeaten when starting QB in his short career. He started as QB for the Niners when Jimmy G was ruled out of the season due to an injury. He hasn’t lost a game ever since then and in his first playoff game, had 332 yards for 4 total TDs and 0 INT. He also handled the pressure pretty well and kept calm despite trailing at halftime.
After the game, LB Fred Warner heaped praises about Purdy and went on to say that the 49ers have a shot at winning the Super Bowl. Warner talked about Purdy’s confidence, his poise, and his consistency. He said that the team wanted him to step up in the second half and despite so much pressure; he lived up to their expectations.
“He’s the reason why we have a chance at the whole thing,” Warner said after the game. “The way that he’s come in…the poise, the confidence, his performance week in and week out is amazing. We need him to play big in the second half. That’s when it counts. It’s going to be tough all the way through, but how are you going to perform in the tough moments? We just gotta keep supporting him.”

Warner further said that he hasn’t seen any rookie perform so well and play with such flamboyance. Purdy came in late in the season and still managed to fill Jimmy G’s shoes and outperform him. Warner added that he is the main man now and the 49ers just have to take one game at a time to have a shot at the Super Bowl.
“As a rookie you can’t talk enough about the way he’s come in and played. I’ve never seen it before in my whole life. I don’t know if anybody’s played like this. Coming in, late in the season and I think he’s the one people should be talking about. Forget everything else. He’s the guy right now. We just need to take it one at a time like we always do and play team football,” he added.
The Niners are now in the divisional round and will face either Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Dallas Cowboys. With this win in the wildcard round, they are huge contenders for the NFC and will look to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
