Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett was arrested in Texas after he was charged with intoxication. A serious prospect for the 2023 NFL Draft, and this can seriously hamper his prospects in the big league.

Stetson Bennett is a local hero for the Bulldogs and has been instrumental in their recent success. After he assumed the role of starting quarterback in the middle of the season back in 2021, he threw for 2,862 yards and 29 touchdowns.

In 2022, he threw for 4,127 yards and 27 touchdowns, which included 398 yards and three touchdowns in the 42-41 win over Ohio State. He recently rallied the Bulldogs to their second straight CFP National Championship earlier this month. He also won the Manning award and has been a revelation for the Bulldogs since taking over the role of the starting quarterback in the middle of 2021.

According to the official police statement, when the officers arrived at the scene, they located Bennett and then determined that he was intoxicated. Furthermore, he was taken to the City Detention Center from there where charges were pressed.

The preliminary investigation found when officers arrived, they located the man, Stetson Bennett, 25, and determined he was intoxicated,” the official Dallas police department statement read. “Bennett was taken into custody, transported to the City Detention Center and charged with public intoxication.”

With several NFL franchises chasing a quarterback, Bennett might have been at the top of the list for many. However, things might take a turn for the worse for the 25-year-old despite his on-field flourish this season.
