Being in his final year of contract, the 26-year old senses that he can get himself a much better deal from a trade given the sort of money that the wide receivers have received during this offseason.

Speaking in the pre 2022 NFL draft, John Lynch spoke of the importance Deebo Samuel carries for the franchise. He remains confident that a common ground will be found on which they can offer him a better contract and extend his stay with the 49ers.

“I can’t ever imagine wanting to move on from Deebo,” Lynch said during Monday’s pre-draft press conference, according to ESPN’s Nick Wagoner. “You put yourself through the exercises of, even though we don’t have a first-round pick, you have to be thorough in this process and prepare for everything.”

“You go through it and do that.”He’s just too good of a player … We’ve got nothing but love for him and nothing but appreciation for what he’s brought, but you just don’t let guys like that walk. So, I can’t envision a scenario where we would (trade him).”

Samuel is coming off an extremely productive season in which the 26-year-old caught 77 passes for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns as well as ran for 365 yards and eight touchdowns.
