“Homecoming for Julian Edelman” Retired Patriots WR could be eyeing an NFL return
Julian Edelman
Julian Edelman had an illustrious career in the NFL. In his 12 seasons with the Patriots, he won three Super Bowl rings and trailed only Wes Walker on the all-time receptions list. Edelman, Gronkowski and Brady had a formidable partnership both on and off the field.
When Tom Brady came back from his retirement, Rob Gronkowski joined him in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now maybe it’s time for Julian Edelman to come back maybe for a season or two.
The former WR hasn’t ruled out the possibility to come back to the league. Recently, on a podcast with Chris Long’s Green Light Edelman stated he feels better now compared to his last season in the NFL.
“That’s what I?m trying to figure out,” the 36 year old replied when Long asked about a potential comeback. “People don’t realize it’s not like, especially when you’re older, you can’t just work out for a week, take a Gatorade shake, take a conditioning test and get ready for 18 weeks of football. It’s a huge mind commitment, and you can’t dip your toe in. You’ve got to dive into that thing.

Julian Edelman also pointed out that there’s no rush and he is still not on that level yet. There are a lot of things to improve but all around he feels really good and positive.
“I’m doing things where I’m in the beginning stage of, like, an offseason-ish, just kind of feeling out my body and feeling out my legs”. Julian Edelman stated. “I’ve had some downtime. My body feels good. There are some deficiencies here and there, but I feel extremely better than I did the last year-and-a-half of my career. I don’t know if it’s fool’s gold just because I haven’t been compounding loadage.
Though if Julian Edelman were to return, the WR indicated that he would likely go back to the Patriots, there’s also the more intriguing option to reunite with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay with reports of Gronkowski also considering the same.
