Joe Namath celebrated his 79th birthday on the 31st of May this year, and played for over a decade at the New York Jets. He earned his legendary status at the franchise, by correctly predicting and starring in their Super Bowl III win over the then Baltimore Colts.

David Carr looked pretty confident of his claim saying, “In honor of Joe Namath I’m going to guarantee that the New York Jets make the playoffs. Jets it has been a long time, I’m just saying, Rich Eisen, you’re going to be fine man. Robert Saleh is a great coach and he has a young good football team and I can’t wait to watch them.”

Davie Carr also went onto explain himself while making on the very popular Rich Eisen show, as to why he thinks the Jets would break their voodoo this year. The 42-year quarterback spoke of his love for Zach Wilson, and believes that the franchise has an excellent mix of youth and experience to break their drought.

“So you look at Wilson and I love him. I think he is an incredible talent and I love watching him throw the football. There are only a few guys that I get excited about when I watch them on tape and Wilson is one of them. He has all that ability and he is aggressive. I loved that the Jets didn’t babysit him or hold his hand, they asked him to make big plays on third down,” David Carr concluded in his assessment.
