The Dallas Cowboys, led by their franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, made it all the way to the divisional round game last season. The team eventually lost to the San Francisco 49ers after a horrible 2 interceptions performance by their QB. However, the Dallas insider, Reid D Hanson, puts the blame on Prescott’s supporting cast and claims even Tom Brady couldn’t have saved them with that offensive unit.

Unlike a lot of people’s opinion that Dak Prescott blew the game for the Cowboys against the 49ers back in January, Hanson claims the Cowboys’ bottom-tier WR group and the offensive line are the reason for their failures. The insider went on to say that only a few QBs like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers could’ve performed at a high level with that supporting cast.

“There aren’t many QBs not named Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes who can survive a season with a bottom-tier WR corps and an offensive line ranked as the fifth-worst in pass block win rate,” claims Hanson according to Marca.

Furthermore, Hanson also drew a parallel between Tom Brady’s final season with the New England Patriots and Dak Prescott’s 2022 season with the Dallas-based football team.

“Even the GOAT himself, Tom Brady, looked like expired clam chowder in his last season in New England. Something that changed instantly when he joined that stacked Buccaneers roster a season later. It’s amazing how impactful a supporting cast is on a QB’s success,” stated Hanson.

Dak Prescott’s number 1 wide receiver last season was the former first-round pick CeeDee Lamb, who registered 1,359 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns in 2022. Brady’s number 1 pass catcher during his final season with the Patriots was the former 7th-round draft pick Julian Edelman, who accounted for 1,117 receiving yards and 6 receiving TDs.

Besides, Prescott had one running back with over 1000 rushing yards and another one with over 800 rushing yards. However, Brady didn’t have a single running back with 1000+ rushing yards in 2019.

During the remarkable career of Tom Brady that spanned over two decades, the 15-time Pro Bowl quarterback faced the Dallas Cowboys 8 times and only lost once against them.

Brady holds a 7-1 record against the Cowboys. The one loss came in 2023 when the Cowboys defeated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their wildcard matchup.

In his 7 victories against Dallas, the 4-time All-Pro QB threw for 1,945 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. If it wasn’t for the 2023 playoff game, Brady would’ve had a perfect record against Jerry Jones‘ team.
