The quarterback had a disappointing 2022-23 season, which led to the Broncos registering an ugly 5-12 record. In the following season, when the fans expected a turnaround, the quarterback’s relationship with the head coach changed the trajectory of his future. Head Coach Sean Payton openly criticized the quarterback after the first few days.

Throughout the season, the quarterback kept himself professional and did not say anything against the head coach or the team. However, it reflected that he was not happy with how things were going in the team. On his Twitter account, the quarterback expressed gratitude for the city and the management.

The deal between the Denver Broncos and Russell Wilson will go down as one of the worst deals in the history of the NFL. The Broncos paid a hefty price to acquire Wilson, but the QB failed to live up to the hype. With high price points and low turnaround, the deal failed.

NFL on CBS analyst Jonathan Jones recently shared his two cents on the Wilson trade. He claimed that the trade would go down as one of the worst in the league’s history.

This is one of the worst trades to go down in the history. I do not know how you can argue against it. When you consider what the Broncos gave up to get Russell Wilson. He still had two years left with Seattle but then he signed a five-year extension with the Denver.

The Broncos gave up two first-round picks, three veteran players, and multiple mid/late-round picks in exchange for Wilson. And now, after releasing him, they will carry a dead cap hit of $85 million, the highest figure in the league’s history. As for Wilson, he is set to become a free agent on March 13 and could receive interest from some teams.
