Isaiah Hodgins had a miserable start to his NFL career when he was drafted by the Bills in 2020. The WR didn’t get many playing opportunities while in Buffalo and moved out of the Bills to join the Giants.

The Giants claimed Hodgins off waivers and saw something in the young WR that the Bills weren’t able to see. The young WR was a revelation for the Giants and quickly became one of their favorite WRs this season.

With numerous injuries to their starting squad, big expectations fell on the youngster’s shoulders, who carried them with great integrity and was one of the best WRs on the team. Hodgins played a total of eight games with the Giants where he caught 33 passes for 351 yards and also scored four touchdowns.

This helped him prove to the Giants that he was a capable WR and the team gave him a massive new contract in return. Recently, the Giants WR spoke about his short career and how his time with the Bills improved his game with the Giants.

“It was definitely a long journey, and looking back, it’s kind of crazy to see how far I’ve come — but I persevered and was patient, and a lot of people mentored me and kept me working hard,” Hodgins told Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney of WFAN. “My dad, who played in the NFL, told me to use my time on the practice squad as an opportunity to face good players you may be playing against one day, and I was able to learn from guys like Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, and Cole Beasley, and model my game after them.”

The Bills had a great season this year, and that was only possible due to their deadly offense, consisting of WR Stefon Diggs. Diggs is a highly experienced WR and Isaiah Hodgins has claimed to learn a lot from him during his days with the Bills.

The 24-year-old WR didn’t get much game time with the Bills. However, the rigorous training with experienced WRs helped him become the player he is today with the Giants.

Isaiah Hodgins also believes that the Giants will be scary next season and will look to improve on their playoff run. This year the Giants were knocked out by the Eagles in the divisional round. However, next season they will be looking to improve on that by adding a few key players to their somewhat shaky offense.
