Aaron Rodgers has had a slow start to the season. The Packers QB has a career-low 7.2 yards per completion in his first season without their star WR Davante Adams, who left to join the Raiders this season.
Although Rodgers is having a poor start to the season, he is still a top-quality quarterback and a Hall of Famer. Giants defensive coordinator Don ‘Wink’ Martindale thinks that A-Rod is as lethal as ever despite his numbers not saying so. The Giant’s DC believes that Aaron Rodgers is still dangerous and can be a great threat if not contained.
“It’s like owning a python and saying, ‘Don’t worry about it, he won’t bite,’” Don Martindale said. “Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers. To me, there’s no difference. I think that he’s just as effective today as he was 5-6 years ago. He’s playing at a top level.”
The Giants are set to face the Packers for their fifth game of the season. Don Martindale is in his first season as the Giant’s defensive coordinator. Before this, he was at the Ravens for a decade.
Aaron Rodgers has always been a big concern for defensive coaches and it was similar to Martindale, who always has a hard time containing the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
“He’s a pain in the butt,” Don Martindale said. “If you have respect for the game, which we all do, you really are excited about this challenge, going against him. It will be something that you talk about the rest of your life.”

The game between the Giants and the Packers will be an interesting one, as a great defence will be faced with the challenge of handling a decent offence, including the most lethal Aaron Rodgers. Martindale is a great defensive coach known to change the team’s defensive output astronomically.
“Wink is a great coach,” Aaron Rodgers said. “A lot of different things he’s going to throw at you, so you’ve got to be ready for a lot of different coverages, some themes of the week, some pressures. It’s a big challenge for us.”
The last time Aaron Rodgers and Don Martindale met, Rodgers threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns guiding the Packers to a victory over the Ravens.
