Jack Jones is one of the highly touted cornerbacks in the 2022 NFL draft class. However, during the draft, many teams passed Jones due to some off-field concerns, but the New England Patriots drafted the talented cornerback in the fourth round. Jones showed promising flashes during the 2022 regular season, but he was suspended by the Pats’ head coach Bill Belichick for the final game of the season.

After suffering an injury ahead of week 14, Jack Jones allegedly was late to practice and missed some rehab sessions, which led to the Patriots suspending him for one regular season. Nonetheless, during the recent annual league meetings, Belichick claimed that Jones is doing better, and last year’s problems are water under the bridge.

Amidst this situation, the well-renowned NFL insider Albert Breer recently reported that Jones was suspended 1 game for talking back to the Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick. However, Jones has refused the claims and made it clear he never mouthed off at his head coach. “I never mouthed off at Bill idk where y’all getting that from,” tweeted Jones.

Furthermore, Jones also called out Albert Breer and accused him of false reporting. “@AlbertBreer please don’t write false stories. how you portray the players to the media could help or hurt our career im not asking you not to do your job but DONT LIE,” wrote Jones on his Twitter account.

After the Patriots defensive back, Jack Jones accused the Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer of false reporting, the renowned NFL insider has now responded to Jones. During his recent appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich, Breer stood by his reporting and claimed that he would be very careful while reporting news like this.

“This isn’t my first rodeo with something like this, I know when sensitive, inside information, when you’re dealing with it, it is to be taken very seriously. And obviously, I do that when I’m reporting stories like this. Certainly, I stand by my information,” said Breer. “I just stand by what I’ve reported in the past. I take these things seriously, obviously. You never want to be wrong about something like this.”

The Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick is known for his strict policies amongst players. He once infamously benched Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl game for unknown reasons. If a rookie talked back at him, it’s highly unlikely he will stay on the roster for another season, but Jones is still on the roster and is looking to earn the starter role.

Jack Jones played in 13 games last season and registered 2 interceptions and 30 total tackles. He played at a high level before injury and will potentially get a bigger role in the upcoming season.
