“That was f***in’ awesome” Jacoby Brissett gives it back to Tom Brady in his own words after beating the legendary quarterback in a CLUTCH situation for the Browns
Tom Brady and Jacoby Brissett
Starting in possibly his last match for the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Jacoby Brissett produced a clutch performance and bought the Browns home against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in OT. The Browns, playing at home, defeated the Buccaneers 23-17 to go 4-7 for the season.
This was a much-needed win for the Browns and the way in which they clutched it will surely give them a lot of confidence ahead of Deshaun Watson’s return. Brissett was signed as a backup to Deshaun Watson earlier in the offseason because of Watson’s suspension by the NFL. Watson was suspended for 11 games after more than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault and sexual misconduct during his massages.
Brissett led the game to overtime after a great throw to David Njoku in the last few seconds that tied the game and continued his momentum to bring the Browns back from the dead and defeat Tom Brady, one of his inspirations. After the game, a pumped-up Brissett, without any disrespect, imitated Brady’s words and said that the whole situation was ‘f***in’ awesome’.
“I mean this is no disrespect. But in the words of Tom Brady, that was f***in’ awesome. That was f***in’ awesome,” Brissett said after the game.

A ray of hope for Jacoby Brissett amidst an uncertain future
Watson has now completed his suspension and will now be available for the Browns’ next game onwards. This means that Jacoby Brissett will have to take the bench and hence has probably played his last game for the team. When the Browns signed him as Watson’s replacement, it was very well known to everyone that this deal isn’t permanent and he would have to find a different team to start.
Now, with his amazing performance against the Bucs and especially Brady, he has grabbed eyeballs and proved to everyone that he could start for teams as a quarterback and can’t be taken for granted. As for the Browns, they are still in third place in the AFC North division and will face the Texans next to where Watson will start for them.
