Jaire Alexander and the Packers were successful in silencing the Vikings’ strongest weapon in WR Justin Jefferson. The standout WR was subdued throughout the entire game as QB Kirk Cousins also failed to find any momentum throughout the game, making it a low-scoring game for the Vikings.

Alexander and Jefferson had a serious rivalry going on between each other since their week 1 matchup. However, this time, the 25-year-old got the better of Jefferson and savagely taunted the WR throughout the game.

During the first quarter, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins targeted Jefferson. However, the pass was broken up brilliantly by Alexander, who was alert throughout the game and didn’t let the ball reach Jefferson’s hand. Although the block by Alexander was insane, what’s even more insulting is that the Packers CB did Jefferson’s signature celebration, the ‘griddy’ right in front of him when he was lying down on the floor.

Alexander had spoken significant words regarding the Vikings’ WR, and now it was time to put those words into action. The Packers CB called Jefferson’s exceptional performance in week 1 against them a fluke as the 25-year-old backed up his strong words with an amazing performance.

“I was able to follow him…I was able to go to his side all game and I’m the type of person, I’m going to match intensity, so that’s what I did all night,” Alexander told CBS after the game. “I mean hats off to him. He’s still in my top-three receivers, he’s still a great receiver, but I’m confident in myself and I said what I said and I meant what I said.”

The Packers have had a great turnaround to an average season as they look solid to clinch the playoffs spot. Especially after their thrilling win against the Vikings with a score of 41-17.

Alexander silenced the most lethal weapon that the Vikings possess and the Packers were rewarded with a win from that. However, this wasn’t the case for the team as they started their season miserably.

Aaron Rodgers and co. were struggling to win a single game and nothing was going right for them. However, now the playoffs seem like a true possibility as they have just one game left in the season.

The Packers will go up against the Detroit Lions in their last regular season game, a win against them will guarantee playoffs for Rodgers who’s possibly had his worst regular season of all time.

Nonetheless, the Packers organization and all the players, including Jaire Alexander and Aaron Rodgers, should get all the credit for having the resilience to turn their season around and fight for the playoff spot in their last game of the season.
