MVP candidate Jalen Hurts will most likely miss the much-anticipated clash between division rivals- the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. Hurts, who is the main man for the Eagles and is one of the best quarterbacks in the league currently has a sprained shoulder that he suffered in the Eagles’ last week’s win against the Chicago Bears.

The star quarterback got hurt late in the third quarter when Bears defensive end Trevis Gipson tackled Hurts into the ground. In real-time, the injury didn’t look very bad as Hurts continued playing and didn’t miss any time after the hit. He ended up finishing the game 22 of 37 with 315 yards and two interceptions through the air and was sacked just once.

As reported by Adam Schefter, Hurts’ injury isn’t serious enough to rule him out of the season, but it is very likely that he may miss the important game against the Cowboys on Christmas eve. The game doesn’t have much significance as both the Eagles and the Cowboys have qualified for the playoffs and after Dallas’ shocking loss to the Jaguars a couple of days ago, it is almost certain that the Eagles will clinch the NFC East and will head into the playoffs as the No.1 seed. In order to do so, they just need 1 win out of their remaining 3 matches.

Hurts‘ injury was a major scare to the Eagles fans since the team is a serious contender for the Super Bowl this season, they want their main man to stay healthy and fire in every situation. Fans on social media had mixed reactions to his injury. The Eagles fans were scared and sympathetic and wanted Hurts to rest since the regular season is basically sealed.

The Cowboys fans however conspired that since their lead QB Dak Prescott missed the Eagles game earlier this year, the Eagles don’t want Hurts to take the field against the Cowboys. They also believe that Hurts is scared of Prescott and hence is making reasons.

After the Cowboys game on Christmas eve, the Eagles will face the Saints and the Giants in their last two games of the regular season.
