“Is this what love feels like?” Jason Kelce has a special mention for wife Kylie while sobbing inconsolably during retirement presser

Everyone knows the famous love story of Travis Kelce and his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift. But does one know how the elder Kelce brother met his wife and mother of his three children, Kylie? 

The Philadelphia Eagles’ star center Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 glorious seasons. It was not an easy goodbye as he broke into tears at the very start of the press conference on Monday. While talking about his best years playing in the NFL, Kelce shared how his wife has been by his side through all of it, highlighting his love for Kylie. 

The seven-time Pro Bowler said:

I'll never forget the Eagles Christmas party in 2014, and heading out afterwards with a bunch of my teammates to Buffalo Billiards, where my life would change forever. That night, I'd meet my future wife.

Jason Kelce said

With a heavily emotional voice, Kelce recalled how the memory of meeting his future wife for the first time seemed like a surreal experience or rather burned in his retina– in his words. 

He added:

It was like she glided through the opening, an aura around her. Then she started talking. And I thought, Man, is this what love feels like?

That was the moment he realized, she was the one for him. 

Philly’s star center concluded his admiration for his wife by expressing heartfelt gratitude towards her– the mother of his three children, and acknowledged her unwavering support throughout his career. 

How did Jason Kelce and Kylie McDevitt meet?

Unlike most athletes, the Eagles’ center connected with Kylie McDevitt on the dating app Tinder, as they swiped right, they got a match back in 2015. Despite being married since 2018 and having three kids together, Kelce has kept his personal life away from the spotlight– unlike his brother, Travis. 

It wasn’t until a recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast “New Heights” that Kylie opened up about his first meeting with the star NFL player. From Kelce’s Tinder bio, she knew he was looking for a long-term relationship and so was she. However, their first meeting didn’t go as Kylie had hoped for. 

She revealed:

Forty-five minutes later, he fell asleep at the bar, like just, out, like asleep, asleep. The next day, he called and was like, ‘can we try that again?

And in the end, it all worked out in their favor and they got married in a beautiful ceremony in 2018.
