“Ravens winning by 40”: NFL fans in DISMAY over Zach Wilson being out for 4 weeks
Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson
If you are a New York Jets fan, you want to sit down. Head Coach Robert Saleh announced on Wednesday that quarterback Zach Wilson will not be returning to the field until Week 4 of the regular season. Saleh’s latest comments go completely against his earlier statement wherein he expressed that he was optimistic about Wilson starting the game against the Ravens in Week 1.
Zach Wilson suffered a knee injury in the first preseason game on the 12th of August following which he underwent surgery on the knee four days later. The immediate concern was that the QB would be unavailable for the game against the Ravens and it appears those concerns have manifested themselves into reality.
With Zach Wilson out for the start of the season, Joe Flacco will be the New York Jets QB:
The New York Jets team doctors have taken a call to hold Zach Wilson out for a longer period to ensure he does not end up re-injuring that knee. “The earliest he’s going to be available is Pittsburgh, that’s going to be the earliest just from everything we gathered over the last couple of days. Now, can that change? I’m going to leave that door open. We are going to make sure that both mind and body are 110 percent and do right by him and we feel like talking to the doctors and everyone, it’s going to be that Pittsburgh Week,” Head Coach and eternal optimist Robert Saleh told the press.
With Zach Wilson official out for the first 3 weeks, the reign falls back to quarterback Joe Flacco who will be starting against his former team, the Baltimore Ravens. Of course, Jets fans were nothing short of devastated after hearing this, Ravens fans on the contrary may decide to count the Week 1 game as an extension of the preseason as they do not see how their team could lose to a Jets without Wilson. Take a look at some of the reactions!
Baltimore already got that 1-0 record after this news broke out.
It’s Flacco time once again, do not count Joe out. He’s going to come out swinging against his former team.
Perfect way to describe how it feels to be a New York sports fan.
So if Joe Flacco gets the Jets off to a 3-0 start, are we still going to be rooting for Wilson?
Uh oh, watch out Baltimore, the Jets are bringing their best player back.
I’ll have what this person is having.
Will it though? We were all excited to see a new Zach Wilson back in action.
Jets fans are unpredictable.
We wish nothing but speedy recovery for Zach Wilson and look forward to seeing him return and live up to his potential!
