Jimmy Garoppolo spills some ‘interesting’ beans about him being approached by the Dolphins during the off-season ahead of the 49ers
Jimmy Garoppolo
Star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has revealed that he was in talks with the Miami Dolphins during the offseason, but it was all in vain. Garoppolo was initially Trey Lance’s backup heading into the season, but after Lance’s season-ending injury, Garoppolo has been the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.
Garoppolo has done pretty decently this season and despite not being amongst the best quarterbacks, this season in the NFL has led his team to the top of the NFC West division with a 7-4 record. The 49ers will face the Miami Dolphins this week. Talking to the media ahead of the game, Garoppolo revealed that the Dolphins were in a conversation with him, but not much came from it.
He said that the Dolphins are currently in a very good spot and have a great offense led by Tua Tagovailoa. In the end, he said that he is very happy about how things turned out the way he did.
“They were in a conversation. Not much came from it but they definitely were one of the teams in the conversation. Seems they’re in a good spot. As an offense, they have tremendous players going over there. Mike being a great coach, things were discussed but I’m glad things turned out the way they did,” Garoppolo said.
Jimmy Garoppolo deemed ‘fit’ for the clash against the Dolphins
Jimmy Garoppolo hurt his knee last week against the New Orleans Saints and there was uncertainty over whether he’ll start against the Dolphins or not. While addressing the media, he also clarified that his knee is completely fine now and hence, he will start against the Dolphins who have an amazing 8-3 record for the season.
This season, Jimmy G has had 2,381 passing yards to his name, 16 touchdowns, and a mere four interceptions in ten games he has played. He is one of the key players for the 49ers if they want to win the Super Bowl this season or get anywhere close to it.
