Tom Brady is undoubtedly the greatest NFL athlete to ever grace the field. The former Bucs QB has dominated the game for the previous 23 years as he chose to retire recently.

The only person close to his greatness was Joe Montana, who is a legendary QB in his own regard. Before Brady, Montana was considered the GOAT. However, records are meant to be broken, and all it took was a determined 199th-draft pick to make it happen.

Brady beat Montana’s every single record in his long career and cemented himself as the greatest of all time. Montana won 4 Super Bowls in his 16 years as a QB and was regarded as the GOAT for around 20 years.

The feeling of being the best is alluring. However, that didn’t last long for Montana, as Brady nearly doubled his Super Bowl rings and beat almost every record that he created throughout his career.

Writer Wright Thompson recently wrote an article on Joe Montana’s life where he even interviewed the legendary QB. Thompson was invited to the Dan Patrick Show to talk about the same and the writer had some interesting hot takes about Montana.

Thompson believes that Joe absolutely hated it when Brady surpassed him as the GOAT. He was also jealous about the fact that the former Patriots QB now gets to live the life that he lived for around 20 years.

“He’s less jealous of the rings, then he is of the fact he gets to watch someone else gets to live his life that got ripped from him.” Wright Thompson stated on the Dan Patrick Show.

The 7 time Super Bowl winner had one of the worst seasons of his life personally and professionally. Tom Brady went through a lot this year, including a difficult breakup with his ex-wife Gisele. However, he still managed to scrape his team to the playoffs with a losing record.

Although that didn’t help and the Bucs were knocked out by the Cowboys in the wild-card round. There were lots of speculation around Brady’s future, but the 45-year-old QB announced his retirement via a video that he posted on his social media.

It was an emotional video where he thanked everyone who was part of this beautiful journey and is bound to make every Brady fan tear up. With his retirement, many applauded the GOAT, who was getting incessant criticism while he was still playing.

Tom Brady is now speculated about upholding his massive Fox contract and starting work as a broadcaster from next season onwards. Unfortunately, the fans won’t be able to see him for this year’s edition of the Super Bowl clash between the Chiefs and the Eagles.
