“That’s my husband!” Jonathan Owens gets hyped on social media by wife Simone Biles for scoring first NFL touchdown on Thanksgiving

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles was in attendance at Lambeau Field on Thursday night to support her husband, Jonathan Owens, as the Green Bay Packers took on the Detroit Lions. She got a pleasant surprise during the game, which made the day even more special.
It was a matchup where the Packers were the underdogs, but to everyone’s surprise, Green Bay was the one dominating the visitors. In just 8 minutes of play, they were up by 14 points and made the most of a Jared Goff fumble.
On 2 and 12, Goff took the snap and evaded a couple of challenges while looking for teammates to pass the ball. However, the pocket collapsed quickly, and he released the ball in haste, which did not go very far. It was loose on the ground, and the players thought that the referee would judge it as an incomplete pass from the Lions quarterback, except for one.
Owens picked up the ball—uncontested—and ran to the endzone to make sure if the ball was still alive, it would count as a touchdown for the Packers. Perhaps it was lady luck because Biles was there, referees agreed with Owens, and Green Bay Packers ended the first quarter with a 20-6 scoreline.
The 26-year-old Biles quickly picked up her phone and congratulated Owens. She wrote,

Before the Thanksgiving tie, anyone who has little understanding of football would have put the Detroit Lions ahead of the Packers. The scenario started to change once the first half ended. Goff started to complete more passes. He released running back David Montgomery for a 6-yard finish and found Josh Reynolds for a 12-yard TD.
It wasn’t enough, though, as the Packers had increased their lead through Christain Watson early on, and the game finished 22-29 as the Packers recorded their second straight win and are now 5-6 for the season. As soon as the game ended, Simone Biles posted, “A PACKERS WIN BABY! happy thanksgiving.”
One might think that the day was over, but the night was still young for the netizens. They compared Owen-Biles’ chemistry with that of current NFL power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Jonathan Ownes certainly had a Thanksgiving to remember. Not only did his team win against the 8-2 Lions (now 8-3 after yesterday’s loss), the Packers safety recorded 12 tackles (8 solo and 4 assisted). That’s head and shoulders above his early-season woes. 70% of his player hits have come in the last four games in which the Packers have won three (the only loss came against the Pittsburgh Steelers). Their next game is against the Kansas City Chiefs.
