The veteran quarterback Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys suffered their first loss of the 2023 NFL season on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Josh Dobbs, the starting quarterback of the Cardinals registered his first victory as the starting quarterback in the NFL since he was drafted back in 2017. After the game, Dobbs took to social media to hit back at the Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons over his comments about the Cardinals before their week 3 matchup.
Ahead of the game, the Cowboys linebacker called out Dobbs during an episode of “The Edge With Micah Parsons” podcast. “Josh Dobbs, I’m putting him on a bulletin board. I’m throwing darts at him,” said Parsons in his podcast before the game.
After the Cardinals defeated the Dallas-based football team, Dobbs took that short clip from Parsons’ podcast and added a video of him literally dodging darts and then said “Go Cards” to end the video. Simple clapback but was very effective! Check out the footage attached below.
Dobbs shared his clapback video on Instagram, which was later reposted on the social media platform X by another user. The 8-second video has gained over a million views, and many people appreciated Dobbs’ sense of humor. Micah Parsons did get a sack on Dobbs during the game, but the Cardinals QB got the last laugh in their battle.
On Sunday, Josh Dobbs completed 17 of his 21 pass attempts for 189 yards and one touchdown against one of the toughest defensive units in the league. As a result, the Cardinals were able to secure their first victory of the ongoing season.
Josh Dobbs and the Cardinals caused a major upset on Sunday
Before the start of the 2023 season, many experts predicted the Cardinals might even go winless since they would be playing without their franchise quarterback Kyler Murray, who suffered an ACL injury during the 2022 season.
However, on Sunday, the Cardinals caused a massive upset by defeating one of the Super Bowl contenders Cowboys and improved to 1-2. The former fourth-round QB Dobbs threw a touchdown pass in the victory. This was Dobb’s first-ever victory as a starting QB in the NFL.
Now, the 7th-year quarterback will look to add many more victories to his name, starting with another Super Bowl contender San Francisco 49ers, who the Cards are scheduled to face this Sunday in their week 4 matchup.
