Back in 2021, there were only three wide receivers in the NFL who were making more than $20 million per year, namely DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, and Amari Cooper. However, that number soared high with several others bagging mammoth contracts. To lead that list were Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill, who each got $28 million and $30 million, respectively. This has paved the way for other wideouts to demand more now that the position is in line to make the big bucks.

And who is more deserving than the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson who has been one of the very best in the business so far? There have been a lot of talks about Jefferson’s contract extension with the Vikings and how it could become the highest for a wide receiver in the NFL.

However, it seems that Justin Jefferson is not bothered about his contract talks as much as the media is. In a recent interview, Jefferson said that he will be guaranteed to be with the Minnesota Vikings for the next season and is not thinking about the contract. All he is thinking about is improving to get the team to a position he envisages.

Will I be here? Oh yeah,” he said. “(The contract) is not really something I’m really worrying about. It’s really about doing what I need to do to get this team to where we want to go.”

Earlier ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler had said that the Minnesota Vikings will be making extending Justin Jefferson’s contract their top priority. With Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, and Aaron Donald already earning so much, Jefferson will look to get something in that region.

Because wide receiver—that market has gone up to $30 million with Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, all of those guys,” he said. “Jefferson is considered by many around the league as the very best receiver in the NFL. So, are we talking, you know, Aaron Donald money, $31 million per year? We’ll see.”

Justin Jefferson’s girlfriend is Tianna Harris and he could well surpass Aaron Donald‘s three-year, $95 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
