“We were kinda F*CKED,” Cardinals QB Kyler Murray takes a possible shot at HC Kliff Kingsbury after an HONEST admission on loss against the Chargers
The Week 12’s SNF saw a second-straight loss for Kyler Murray and co. as they went down against the Los Angeles Chargers with the narrowest margin of 24-25. A dominating first half was not enough for the team to guarantee a favorable result in the end.
Cardinals QB was intercepted on a 4th and 1 play when he floated the ball to the Wide Receiver, DeAndre Hopkins. Before this play, Murray’s team was leading with three points going into the second half. Ultimately, this play did put them on the back foot and saw them losing by a difference of a single point in the end.
When Kyler Murray was asked about this play in the post-game conference, he had a surprising answer. “Umm.. no that wasn’t-that wasn’t for Hop (DeAndre Hopkins) actually. Schematically, umm..we were kinda f**cked,” rather blunt words by the Cardinals QB.
On the surface level, these words by Kyler Murray can be considered an honest admission of a decision blunder. However, the recent developments in the Cardinals camp point the comment in a certain direction. Murray and the team HC, Kliff Kingsbury, had a heated exchange last month during the team’s win against the Saints.
While Kyler Murray has cleared the rumors about his rift with Kingsbury and had said “we’re good” one cannot help but feel some mismatch between what’s said and what’s visible.

“Schematically” Kyler Murray and co. have a lot on their plates to sort out
The Arizona-based team dominated in the first half of the game and the Chargers, later on, took control in the second half. A successful two-point conversion by the Chargers took the lead, with only 15 seconds remaining on the clock, and sealed the game in their favor.
The Cardinals’ defense was on a roll recording four sacks and successfully pressuring the Chargers QB Justin Herbert. But this was only half of the story of the game. Ultimately, it was more about the lack of execution from the offense in the second half, not the efforts. This may be the exact thing Kyler Murray was pointing at during the press conference. And a loss like this will sit longer than required as the Cardinals have a bye next week.
The team is in the 3rd spot in NFC West and their record this season now stands at 4-8. They are now left with five games to finish the season on a high (if they sort out all the ‘schematic’ plays, that is) and would be a force to be reckoned with after this bye week.
The Cardinals will be going against the Patriots, who are having an abysmal season themselves, in Week 14.
